Palouse Knot Barn Wedding Styled Shoot

Not too long after I started my photography business this year I thought about doing a styled shoot but I didn’t have the guts to do one right away. I found Palouse Knot Barn while networking through instagram and loved all their pictures and then I was fortunate enough to attend a wedding at the venue itself in June and could not help but fall in love with it. I knew that I had to do a shoot there so just a couple days after attending the wedding, I hit Lisa and Emma up about the idea and they were so welcoming and excited to do a shoot as well! Shortly after we picked a day, I saw that they work a lot with Flowers Decor and More so I gave Ashley and Shelly a call to do a collaboration. We all met up to discuss my vision of the shoot and they were so helpful with ideas since this was my first styled shoot ever and I had no clue what to expect. I told them what I had in mind and not only did they make my vision come to life but they made it even better than I had imagined. I told them about my full time job and how I find a lot of deer and elk antlers with it over the years and suggested using them as table pieces. The ladies went above and beyond and put antlers in the bouquet and the arch flowers as well! It was totally my style and I even still have the flowers on display at my house as I write this because I love them that much haha. My bride and groom models were actually my brother and sister in law, Clayton and Cheyenne. They just recently got married so I knew they had dress and outfit ready and they fit the style I was looking to photograph. Cheyenne’s mom Tracie, who works at Sassy Spur Barbor Shop, did the hair and make up and nailed the beautiful natural look that we were going for. Cheyenne’s dad and brother came to hang out along with my husband! We all had such a great time taking the photos and spending the whole evening laughing together.

This styled shoot wasn’t super glamorous like every shoot you see on Instagram or pinterest. It was super simple which was just what I needed to get a good feel for them and to potentially plan more in the future. This simple little shoot was a huge stepping stone for my photography business in many ways and I cannot thank everyone enough who helped make it happen and made it so fun.
